In my tender years, I’ve found cultural enrichment in the French Alps, Spain and Bavaria, interspersed with fleeting trips to the Caribbean and a grubby month on the southeast Asian backpacker trail… anywhere with decent weather, good food and great people.

I’ve been lucky enough to indulge in lavish beachside retreats and step out from grand, opulent hotels into big city shopping paradises; however, the mouldy student digs, bamboo huts, bumpy trains and deserted beaches along the way have ultimately made me appreciate the luxury, style and design that a seriously boutique hotels should offer.
