You know when I first read about this Obedience Wives Club being set up in Malaysia just because their men had so conveniently blamed their wives for not being able to keep their smaller head down south to themselves… I was not a single bit surprised. But naturally, still disgusted. You know our dear neighbours in the North can come up with the craziest stuff. But a club that sounds more like one for pet dogs? Oh, you got to be kidding me!
Going by their motto “To love, honour & obey”, this club was set up with the primary idea of teaching women to please their husbands in hope that they would not stray or misbehave. Since when was the onus on us? If you are married (or in a relationship) then you have an obligation to stay faithful. No? Just simply how much oppression women in these gender prejudiced societies have to suffer?
“We just want to ask all the wives to be obedient wives so that there will be fewer problems in our society,” such as infidelity, divorce and domestic violence, Maznah Taufik, its spokesperson told AFP.
This is what the men in the Obedient Wives Club are looking forward to. The wife as a sex slave/whore…
They even encourage wives to behave like hookers. “You must satisfy your husband. A good wife should be a whore in bed,” said Dr Rohaya, whose husband has three other wives.
I think it’s sad enough that they are involved in a polygamy marriage but now to have to go to the extend of behaving like a whore just to keep your husband. That is not only degrading, but just saddening.
The responsibilities of a marriage does not befall solely on the woman alone. In every relationship, it takes two hands to clap and function. You could be the dirtiest whore in bed and most obedient wife, however, if your man is intend on cheating. He will cheat and because of clubs like these, he can so conveniently blame it on the woman for causing the failure of their marriage.
What’s more appalling is that the jokers want to branch out their club to the shores of Singapore. It has been reported in The New Paper that Dalam Zaini, a 70-year-old literature professor is planning to set up a local branch of the Obedience Wives Club.
And despite being slammed even in their own country in Johor Bahru and worldwide, OWC’s vice president Dr. Rohaya stands firm by his club. He told Malaysian newspaper The Star that, “A husband who was kept happy in the bedroom would have no reason to stray or seek out prostitutes or indulge in other social vices.”
All I can say is that these people are delusional and desperately looking for an excuse to cover up their filthy ways. Their weird theories are only there to further degrade and oppress women. In my opinion, the setting up of such a club itself is a mockery to the very sacred wedding vows we make on our wedding day. And the men who promote such clubs are just wimps.

Well written commentary and completely agree with you on this issue! Even if a couple have the best sex in the world, it will not stop the man from cheating if he does not value the idea of a marriage and that once married, sex should be exclusive to the couple. Also, cheating does not always have to be physical. Some men are already cheating on their wives mentally. I can’t decide if that’s worse than physical cheating.
