Recently, I attended a blogger event with June by L’oreal where they made a bold claim; that their latest L’oreal White Perfect Laser whitening skincare range had proven clinical results which resemble the aftermath of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL).
Don’t mind my sickly, pasty white face as I was down was a bad flu and nearly forgotten all about this event till I got the reminder from L’oreal.
Check out the stars of the night:
Left to right; White Perfect Laser Anti-Spot Brightening Essence (S$39.90) and the All-Round Whitening Cream SPF19/PA+++ (S$32.90)
We all know that IPL as a popular though pricey method to whiten the skin. Others go for vitamin C drips which are also not very friendly on the pocket, costing a few hundreds a go. With the L’oreal White Perfect Laser, fairer and brighter skin seems achievable in a more affordable manner.
Details on how to WIN a L’oreal Youth Code Boosting Essence (S$39.90) & UV Perfect sunscreen SPF 30 PA+++ (S$17.90) under the cut…
According to the above chart, it shows the results after women took an 8 week trial of both the White Perfect Laser Anti-Spot Brightening Essence and the All-Round Whitening Cream SPF19/PA+++. It boasts of an astonishing 68% more radiance superior than IPL!
All-Round Whitening Cream SPF19/PA+++ contains a highly efficient ingredient complex: PRO-VANISH. How the cream works is that it neutralizes melanin production at the source and reduces the level of melanin in the skin. The full-spectruuuuum UV filters protect against UVA and prevents spots and skin darkening.
White Perfect Laser Anti-Spot Brightening Essence contains Ellagic Acid which is a plant extract that is a powerful anti-oxidant. It helps to regulate the production of melanin and prevent existing melanin from darkening. The advanced “Mild-Peeling Active”- Demoliss helps to exfoliate dead cells loaded with melanin, thus, refining the skin texture.
I’m checking out the texture of the product and playing around with it. The All-Round Whitening Cream SPF19/PA+++ has a richer, thicker consistency with a pleasant scent. A little would go a long way given its creamy texture. Whereas the White Perfect Laser Anti-Spot Brightening Essence has a lighter texture and is absorbed pretty quickly upon application.
During the presentation, Shermaine touched on the importance of using anti-aging products and sun protection.
SPF is a measurement of how much protection the sunscreen offers from the UVB rays that cause sunburn. A few sunscreen labels also list a “PA” ranking, which refers to the amount of protection the sunscreen offers from the UVA rays that may cause long-term skin damage. PA rankings are listed as PA+, PA++ or PA+++. The more +’s, the more protection from UVA rays.
Therefore, not only it is essential for your sun protection products to contain SPF but also PA too. And as the above explanation shows, PA+++ is the highest. The L’oreal White Perfect Laser cream has a PA+++ on top of the SPF19 protection. Which makes it suitable for indoors too but if you are going to be outdoors for long periods, it’s recommended you slather on a higher SPF sunblock for sufficient protection. I would recommend something with at least SPF30.
The makeup artist here is giving us a demo on how badly sun damaged skin would look like if we do not take good care of it. June See is the brave volunteer for this demo.
She did half of June See’s face, check out the wrinkles and age spots she had added. Indeed a grim wakeup for all of us who have not been taking care of our skin.
So if you are keen to try out the L’oreal White Perfect Laser products, you can check them out in Watsons, Guardian, Sasa, selected dept stores and major Super & Hypermarkets come this June 2012. If i’m not wrong, they will be first be available at Watsons sometimes soon this month though.
