When it comes to tyrants on the roads, it’s no surprise that cab drivers top the list. Surpassing overzealous youngsters eager to please their female passengers, the disguntled PRC bus drivers and matured lady drivers that do crazy stunts when you least expect them to.

Now, don’t get me wrong, let’s be fair. Not all cab drivers are that irresponsible and reckless but admit it, there’s still quite a big lot of black sheep that’s smearing the name of the nice, good drivers.
In fact, just ask any driver and they would have their fair share of cabbie driver complaints. Do these reckless cab drivers act this way because they happen to be on the road for most of the time? So they think it makes them KINGS of the road. Veteran drivers in some way?
On 29th May, approximately around 2.39PM, I was making a left turn from Commonwealth Drive onto Queensway Underpass.
The entire extreme left lane I was turning into was EMPTY. I had waited for all of the cars to past before turning out. There were a few cars on the middle & right lane. TRANS CAB SHB9637Z was on the middle lane. Before it suddenly swerved right into my lane and almost caused the life of me and my unborn child. BUT thankfully for both of us, I was turning at a slow speed and managed to brake in time.
It’s really selfish and irresponsible of these taxi drivers. If I were to hit him in the rear, I would have to compensate for the damages and loss of possible income when it’s obviously due to his dangerous driving. Sometimes, I wonder if cab drivers do this on purpose? Hope that we can hit them so that they can claim damages? While they go gallivanting at MBS or RWS?
Anyway, a quick search on google shows that TRANS CAB drivers do not have much of a reputation either. Check it out: CLICK HERE Here’s just a few on complaints against TRANS CAB drivers, check out this link by INFO TAXI ORG & here’s one of the comments which caught my eye.
“Dear Transcab company, and the driver of Transcab SHB7548K. I hope this note gets to you. my family and I almost lost our lives on the road due to reckless driving by one Transcab driver SHB7548K at the junction of River Valley Road and Clarke Quay.”
Another interesting blog caught my eye. Sgtaxidrivers.blogspot.com where you get to write in to complain about your bad attitude or reckless cabbie.
So will TRANS CAB do something about its reckless drivers? For goodness sake, please make sure they are not a menace to the public before letting them out on the roads. Oh and while you are at that, perhaps you would like to hire customer-centric CSOs. Because there’s apparently also a complaint regarding your rude hotline staff. Read about it HERE.
