Since Peter Philips stepped down as Chanel's creative director of make-up in 2013 and subsequently joined Dior, we've been waiting to see how the fashion house carved a new path in beauty. And, if yesterday's pre-spring/summer 2015 show in Dubai was anything to go by, the make-up won't be going pared-back and minimal anytime soon.
Sam McKnight was on hair duty as usual, this time joined by make-up artist Tom Pecheux, personally selected by Karl Lagerfeld. Inspired by the kohl-lined eyes traditionally worn by women in the United Arab Emirates, the team created dark eyes diffused with Chanel's Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eye Shadow and framed with false lashes. As at the Dior show, a little space was left between the liner on the upper and lower lash lines for a graphic, modern look. Gold leaf was applied to the inner corners of the eyes, whilst skin was warmed with the Les Beiges Healthy Glow powder compact launched last year.
