Wanna Be Smart & Savvy, Financially?

The glossy leather casing of the branded organiser was the first thing that caught my eye amongst other things that were in her bag. My cousin was busy in the kitchen helping with the dishes after the family dinner. Ever since she started working, she has been the professional that everyone admired. Even our other little cousins look up to her in envy with eyes that say, “I want to be just like you.” I, on the other hand, have no idea, what to do after graduation. So I peeked into her organiser; just out of curiosity to see what her job as Prudential’s Financial Consultant is like…

Monday: 12pm: Lunch with Mr Lim. Remember to bring contracts along! After lunch: Reminder to self to check out new shoes in Orchard. 7pm: Dinner appointment with Melissa. Take note that she is in the fashion industry – MUST share latest purchase with her.

Tuesday: Finish paperwork in the office.

Wednesday: 2pm: Call prospective clients. Must buy new highlighter before that. 4pm: Facial and massage 8pm: Dinner and drinks with Mr and Mrs Tan. Bring forms to be filled in along.

Thursday: 9am: Finance refresher course @ main office 3pm: New client meeting – Alicia Goh 10pm: Drinks with the girls at Attica. Get more contacts!!

Friday: TGIF! Office party @ Esplanade.

Saturday/Sunday: Bintan trip with family! Melissa recommends a new massage treatment that I simply must try.

I was really intrigued by her job descriptions. I was about to flip onto the next page when she screamed, “BELINDA!!!” I cowered in embarrassment, slid her organiser back into her bag and mumbled a guilty, “Sorry…”

Not only did she did NOT scold me for sniffing around her personal items but she genuinely informed me that Prudential would be holding a “Smart & Savvy.
