I find the 9pm show on channel 8 very educational. It's rare that I like mediacorp production these days but this one is really different.
One question that came up: Can there really be platonic friendship between men and women?

One of the actor said, don't draw the distinction between friend and lover so clearly and everything will be fine. I literally LOL when he said that.
An honest answer that no one likes to hear.

I am still sitting on the fence with that answer. I don't wanna lose my male friends by saying no, no platonic friendship can exist between men and women.

But then again, it's pretty easy to develop feelings by spending a lot of your time with one person (if both of you physically look all right).
I guess the main thing is to be responsible for your relationship at the moment. Don't get too physical and unnecessary feelings will fate without further development.
And also, everybody needs to remember that it is possible that your other half always have an exit route if he/she is badly treated. Don't get complacent in a relationship.

It depends. I hv a guy friend whom i know since young. until now i know his wife. and we even went shopping together. i mean if i really like him, i would hv been with me long ago. why wait til now? he is like a big brother to me. and til now he still is. i often seek advise from him whenever i'm in some difficult situation or need to make some tough decision.

If your guy friend is totally out of your league for boyfriend standards how?
Like say his looks and character. Like say, he is a super fat nerd who looks average or maybe even below average but for obvious reasons, you are friends with him because he has a nice personality.
Or maybe ur guy friend average looking but tends to be on the playboy side (which is a totally turn off to u and ur against it haha) when it comes to love but for obvious reasons, you are friends with him because he treats his friends and buddies well.

Many feels that its not possible to have platonic friendship between a male and a female. But seriously I do feel that its possible, I have a lot of guy friends around me and we are all friends. (Lets exclude gay friends alright.)

They are just like normal girlfriends outside, but just in a different gender. But if that guy really falls for that girl, and she doesnt return any feelings, I guess that whole friendship will be gone.

Better not get into any relationship with a friend that you really cherish and love, unless you feel that he is the one you wanna marry or he will be gone from your life after the breakup.

But sometimes, these things are very hard to control.

Sometimes, people fall in love with their so-called best friend of opposite gender without realising. Then when the other party cannot reciprocate, the friendship will definitely suffer because feelings of jealousy, etc will arise and it's hard not to get all "possessive" even though they are still friends.

I had good friends who fell in love with their female besties and then the girls found some boyfriend. It was so sad to see how heart broken they were.
