Hi everyone,

I have been in Switzerland for quite some time now and noticed that the westerners are very open with their affection for each other. For instance, french kissing in the middle of the train station. Or, when I am in school, I see girls sitting on guy's laps etc.

I was wondering, what standards apply in Singapore context? What would you do and not do?

=D

Most Singaporeans tend to be more conservative and judgemental with these sort of things. You'll get stomped. You just never know when people will shake their heads and stare at you for doing certain things.
I wish for a more open minded Singapore as I myself am more open minded than the typical Singaporean.
That being said, what's acceptable? I guess you can say everyone knows what's not acceptable.

In Singapore its not really acceptable. I am cool with it, but there are some kids that really overdo it like they have sex in stairs and such which is really unacceptable.

But normal kissing is really fine, but no petting in public places.

I think little pecks on the cheeks are acceptable.

Acceptable la! As long not to the heavy extreme of having petting in public or even sex!
Kissing hug is ok but not squeezing or touching obscene areas~~

who is stopping teenagers to do that in Singapore ? the trend is getting more. Singapore is conservative but don't judge it as ridiculuous like miyaki, each country has their culture and style. Try doing that in Arab and see what will happen. Miyaki how will you describe Arabian countries for jailing or killing those who show affections in the public ?

Kissing and hugging is acceptable but not heavy petting or even making out in public place. I am very irritated when some teenagers lost themselves in their kissing world and block the escalator or passageway. This is when i find these actions ridiculuous. There is no need to tell the whole world you are in love and do a quickie, why must hug until blocking ways ?

WOO~ Cool down~ Yes I agree that in Muslim and Arabic Countries they are strict as they cover themselves like ninja just like seen in Sex in the City 2. But what everyone meant it's acceptable to be affectionate but like touchy here and there blocking ways then I suggest they get a room right ^^ We are all open minded people~ For those that post online, I believe is what beyond their acceptance
