Hi all,

Just want to ask how do you reject a person nicely without bruising their egp? Any stories to share?

Usually I end up agreeing to go on a date, because I don't know how to say no. Ahh. But this has to change because it causes more damage in the long run. Sometimes, you are just very happy on your own and being single and don't want any kind of commitment that will affect your lifestyle.

Say that you're flattered, thank you. But I am not looking to date right now so thank you very much but I have to turn you down.

They might persist a little, but smile, be polite but DO NOT get guilttripped into it. If you feel a little cornered or offended, you can say you are a girl who knows what you want and this is not something you want now. So sorry but that's how it is. I'm sure you're a nice guy but I am not looking -- for anything. They might try to convince u it can mean nothing, just for fun, doesn't have to be a 'thing'. Then just smile and say no and shake your head. At this point u don't have to explain anymore. Just no, shake head, no shake head. He'll let it go. Smile and it makes everything softer. Hope that helps!

Just tell him " I can only feel that you are my big brother/younger brother", most guys won't like that but they will understand.

Don't even start with " let's be friends first", this give them some hope.

But telling them they are just like your brother ( not the korean opa) means no chemistry, no chance to develop further into "sexual" side.
This will turn the guys off immediately.

How abput replying him, ohh I'm busy on that day, let's do another day, then when the 'another day' comes, bail out again. Thats what my mom teaches me..hahaha. Dont turn the guy down cos guys have ego and easily bruise, so do it subtly like avoiding, until he gets the hint.

A few methods that i always use.

"err... sorry, I'm not ready for another relationship yet. Problem lies on me, not you."
"I always regard you as my buddy/brother. Let's keep it that way k? I don't wanna risk our friendship"

But must say in very nice tone and smile. Don't be soft hearted and give in.
There was once a guy "assumed" that I've accepted him and announced to everyone. It turned out pretty bad.

i would subtly mention tht I am attached during our conversation so as not to embarrass him and he can then back away with dignity in tact.

However if he doesnt get the hint. I'll just pull away and not be so friendly with him.

If he is persistent then I'd just get annoyed and say sorry, I am not interested

I have the exact same problem but I guess the easiest way is to actually tell them directly what`s going on because otherwise you won`t get to the point u want to

Just tell them straight in the face(while still being polite). Let the guys feel sad for a moment then they will move on. Have to be mean to be kind sometimes.

Otherwise want to ding dong for how long? If the guy cant take rejection, then perhaps he's not as confident as he looks.
