I enjoy going to library to borrow recipe books. Why don't you try that? It's a joy to see the nicely printed books with huge images of the wondering baked goods that you can make too.

Borrow recipe books from library is a good and yet money-saving way
I think for simple cake / muffins, those books would suffice.
Baking with friends / loved ones can be real fun.. Choose & get ingredients together, Mix-n-match flavours, Trial-n-errors along the baking process.

However, if you're looking for professional comments and teaching, yup i think community clubs are suitable place to look for 1, and i believe their fees are cheaper compared to others.
