With the announcement last week of a new set of movies set in the Harry Potter universe, we couldn't help but get excited about this new Halloween experience we found.
Ashford Castle in Ireland is offering guests a special "Hogwarts Halloween" October 25th to November 2nd. With secret rooms, soaring ceilings and more than 700 hundred years of mysticism hidden behind its giant doors, Ashford Castle will have any Harry Potter-fan convinced they've died and gone to Hogwarts.
Ashford Castle is set on 350 acres in County Mayo, on the shores of Lough Corrib and the River Cong. Though it's not the castle used for the exterior shots in the movies (that would be Alnwick Castle), it's not hard to imagine the world of Harry coming to life in Ashford.
Guests will be able to explore the expansive grounds on a trek through the "Forbidden Forest," meet Ashford Castle's resident owl, Dingle, and enjoy a "House Elf" cooking lesson. There will be treasure hunts, painting classes and more.
The one-night package is priced at about $689 per room, per night and the two-night package is priced about $1,305 per room for two night. Both packages offer accommodation in a Deluxe Family Room and are based on two adults and two children under the age of 12 sharing the room.
