The pair talks about their emotions and future plans in their first joint interview following their high-profile split.
Newcomers Edwin Goh and Jayley Woo may seem at peace with each other as they posed intimately during the photo call session after the press conference of Channel U's latest drama Jump!. But, an awkward silence was clearly evident as the two young artistes prepare for their first joint interview with xinmsn after their highly publicized breakup.
The ex-couple star alongside each other in the drama series as Double-Dutch teammates who are, coincidentally, romantically linked.
Unlike their onscreen characters, their relationship skidded to a stop towards the end of the production after reports of Edwin's underage smoking and his infamous kiss with actress Dawn Yeoh appeared in the media.
However, that did not affect their performance on the show, as Edwin explained, "I am not that kind of person who would mix work and personal life. I think it's very unprofessional to do so."
Jayley echoed his views, and said, "After all, its acting."
Since the breakup, both parties have not met until the day of the press conference.
Given their high profile split, we wonder if there is any sort of negative emotions between them. However, the ex-lovers told xinmsn that there is no sense of uneasiness when they see each other, but there is still a whiff of awkwardness in the air when they were asked to sit together for an in-depth interview.
When xinmsn asked if they thought the other party had changed since the last time they saw each other, Jayley mused, "Oh, I think Edwin has grown taller due to all the rope skipping."
As for Jayley, Edwin, in his boyish shyness, opined, "I think Jayley is still the good old Jayley."
Jayley may have been unlucky in love, but her career is looking up having signed a two-year full time contract with MediaCorp recently.
