Remember some years ago, a Japanese brand invented a “nose mask” to remove blackheads on your nose and T-zone? Over the years, other brands have introduced other inventions such as: the eraser-type, peel-off gel, scrub-off gommage. But now say Sayonara to our “strawberry-like” nose.
The latest invention is from the Japanese brand ‘Sana’, the ‘pore vacuumer - hot gommage ‘. Sounds intimidating? Not really. So how different is this product compared to all those we have tried over the years?
This new innovation comes in a tube. The special formulation heats up when it comes in contact with water and is for use on the nose area only. The heated effect opens up the pores, causing blackheads to loosen. The paste has no gritty feel when you spread it on your nose so it doesn’t feel as if you are using sand paper on your skin. I think this would be a good alternative for people with sensitive skin as there is no irritation caused as with ripping off the nose stickers (pore packs).
How to use:
Squeeze about 2cm of gommage on dry, clean hands. Apply on nose. Dampen your fingers, massage gently in a circular movement for 30sec and rinse off.
The other product, with the same heated affect is called “Pore vacuumer – hot cleansing gel”. This is for use on whole face. The volcanic clay “ghassoul” from morocco is a sebum-absorbing ingredient, when used with a combination with red pepper and watercress extract, loosens clogged pores and removes impurities. Skin feels even and smooth after use.
Where to buy: Sasa and Watsons
Retail price: Pore vacuumer – hot gommage ($15.90) and Pore vacuumer – hot cleansing gel ($17.90)
Personally, I like the texture of the hot-gommage. Works like a scrub, without the coarse sandy feel. The sudden burst of heat when the product comes in contact with water is quite amazing but with no discomfort at all. No dry and itchy after-feel, even for sensitive skin like mine. Nose feels very smooth after use.
