Quick fix to pimple problems!

Long time no blog~ the Crew has been extremely busy these few weeks.. anyway, I saw this on my Facebook wall today and thought I’ll share this interesting picture. Now you’ll know what to eat/not eat to reduce those pesky spots!

1 & 2: Digestive System — Eat less processed or junk food, reduce the amount of fat in your diet, step up water intake and opt for cooling things like cucumbers.

3: Liver — Cut out the alcohol, greasy food and dairy. This is the zone where food allergies also show up first, so take a look at your ingredients. Besides all this, do 30 minutes of light exercise every day and get adequate sleep so your liver can rest.

4 & 5: Kidneys — Anything around the eyes (including dark circles) point to dehydration. Drink up!

6: Heart — Check your blood pressure (mine was slightly high) and Vitamin B levels. Decrease the intake of spicy or pungent food, cut down on meat and get more fresh air. Besides this, look into ways to lower cholesterol, like replacing “bad fats” with “good fats” such as Omegas 3 and 6 found in nuts, avocados, fish and flax seed. Also, since this area is chock-full of dilated pores, check that your makeup is not past its expiry date or is skin-clogging.

7 & 8: Kidneys — Again, drink up! And cut down on aerated drinks, coffee and alcohol as these will cause further dehydration.

9 & 10: Respiratory system — Do you smoke? Have allergies? This is your problem area for both. If neither of these is the issue, don’t let your body overheat, eat more cooling foods, cut down on sugar and get more fresh air. Also keep the body more alkaline by avoiding foods that make the body acidic (meat, dairy, alcohol, caffeine, sugar) and adding more alkalizing foods like green veggies and wheatgrass juice. Another thing that most of forget – dirty cell phones and pillow cases are two of the top acne culprits and this area is what they affect the most!

11 & 12: Hormones — This is the signature zone for stress and hormonal changes. And while both are sometimes unavoidable, you can decrease their effect by getting adequate sleep, drinking enough water, eating leafy veggies and keeping skin scrupulously clean. Another interesting point: breakouts in this area indicate when you are ovulating (and on which side).

13: Stomach — Step up the fibre intake, reduce the toxin overload and drink herbal teas to help with digestion.

14: Illness — Zits here can be a sign that your body is fighting bacteria to avoid illness. Give it a break, take a yoga class, take a nap, take time to breathe deeply, drink plenty of water and know that everything always works out!

Some of them do not look bad without make up,

after wearing “big eyescontact lenses ,

their sleepy eyes just gone in a second and they look more attractive.

I used to wear those big eyes contact lenses for a period,

however, after i put back the normal transparent lenses,

people saw the difference. (luckily it is not as drastic! )

They asked where are your big, black eyes?  (at least they could still recognise me!)

Therefore, i try not to wear it so that people can still recognise the real me :P

But once in a while is still okay :D

Besides, eye liner is also a powerful tool!

To some people, eye liner is something that they can’t live without!

It highlights the shape of your eyes, makes your eyes look bigger and brighter!

Last but not least, nice eyebrows could bring the expression to a person’s face.

With poorly defined eyebrows, it makes us look tired and sometimes…..weird?

Here’s the difference:

Cheers :D

Damn hot babes

Just found old photos of Huirong, our blogger. I knew her before I became part of the MFP Crew.. we were friends since about 5 years ago. How time flies and how much we’ve both changed. (She for the better, and me? Becoming an old aunty, hahahhaha.)

RayCity was a game I once managed back in Asiasoft. It’s a racing game not unlike Need for Speed and the key concept were my Race Queens. I had two groups, called Angels & Devils. I cast Huirong as an Angel. This shoot was a lot of fun, kinda like organizing a fashion show. My ex-team and I sourced for costumes and tailors, auditioned girls, rented cars and decked out the F1 building. Bruno, the young Italian guy you will see in the pics below, was super fun too. He kept cracking jokes and made sure that my girls and I were comfortable through the entire 8 hour shoot. ‘Nuff said, check out the hot race queen pics!

The last shot was a “let’s shut him up!” thingy. Before I knew it, ropes and chains had appeared. Sorry Bruno!

Arty-farty manicure

1. Begin by painting your nails with a light-colored polish. We used OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls.

2. Dip a slanted makeup brush or small paintbrush in a bright, saturated polish. Next, quickly dip the polish-covered brush in a bit of nail polish remover to thin it out.

3. Channel your inner preschooler and pull back on the brush to splatter polish across your nails. It’s a messy process, so make sure you’re working on a covered surface!

4. Continue splattering with as many polishes as you’d like (We used three bright colors).

5. Now comes clean-up. Begin by using a remover-soaked cotton ball to wipe away the splatters on your hands and fingers. After most of the splatters are cleaned up, switch to a small remover-dipped makeup brush to clean up the skin right around your nails.

6. Add a top coat and get ready to answer “How did you do that?” for the rest of the day.

Have fun!

Self control at Daiso

Went to Daiso at Eastpoint with eosisticallyyours a few weeks ago to pick up some props for our videos. Okay find, he went to pick up work stuff and I tagged along cos I LOVE DAISO.

There’s sooooo many things in there and they all cost only $2! My bill used to be $80 – $100 each time I visit the store but I now practise some restrain and try not to spend more than $30. (He can tell you how full my basket was until I woke up and forced myself to put impulse buys back!)

The great thing ’bout this thrift store is that it sells a very wide variety of items from beauty to fashion to food to pet stuff. The even greater thing, as I was sharing with eosistic, is that they sell weird contraptions that you never knew you needed until you see it. For example, during our trip there we chanced upon plastic tongs that are supposed to be used like chopsticks. This nifty tool is to be used for……. potato chips. Seemingly useless until you think about it. Or if you are a PC gamer. Most of us gamers snack when we’re in very long raids or quests and greasy keyboards are a big no-no. Excellent for cuddling infront of the TV with your bf/gf and suddenly making out. Hey presto! Clean fingers!

Anyway, here’s what I got this time:

Soft toy for Tuppy, A LOT of double eye lid tape, 2 sets of travel kits, nail clipper. Total damage: $34

I always take every single piece of the eye lid tape when it’s in stock cos its one of the best and value for money ones that I’ve tried. It’s one of those double side sticky kinds. The hold is very strong; can last for 12 hours if I don’t have any eye make up on, and about 9 if I have eyeshadow, eyeliner, etc on. Looks extremely natural too. When I look down, the “stuck” part looks like a natural double eyelid crease. Super flat, super thin and short but can withstand even days when I am secreting oil like a KFC chicken.

And why did I buy a nail clipper from Daiso when I could easily get a better one from beauty shops? No… the answer is not cos its $2 only. It is because…. I SELDOM SEE STRAIGHT CLIPPERS!!! A lot of clippers I see elsewhere are curved and it’s damn irritating for someone like me who likes to keep my nails square. I usually cut my nails (after soaking in water) with manicure scissors. You see you see! 180 degrees!!! *dance around happily*
So that’s my ultra bimbotic loot from Daiso this time. Till the next post!

My First Compliments

[This is not an advertorial.]
I was invited to SK-II’s event earlier this month where they unveiled their latest ambassador, Sheila Sim. I’m blogging about this not because I like her, but because it’s one of those rare times I finally believe in something. As a marketing person myself, it’s not easy to convince me when a brand rolls out their campaigns. This time around, SK-II’s brand proposition is called “My First Compliments”; how a user gets their first compliments after using their products for awhile.

This struck a chord with me cos I have been a very strong advocate of SK-II products to my friends, colleagues and family members. I’m pretty sure I’ve converted at least 10 people to using Facial Treatment Essence (FTE), commonly called Miracle Water. I truly did get my first compliments after using FTE for only a month or so.

I never had perfect skin, or even “normal” skin before I discovered SK-II. I had the typical prone-to-breakouts, dull and dry skin. It was desperation that led me to try Miracle Water, in hopes of a miracle. It was tough the first time when I had to pay more than $200 for a bottle of hope though. I was only an 18 year old student who earned $1,100 per month back then.

The first time I applied FTE to my face, the absorption was instantaneous. Literally. Like how a very good sponge absorbs water. My skin was completely dry and had no evidence of anything being applied to it. I used slightly more than a 50 cent coin amount. There was some slight heartache to how much I was using out of this bottle of “gold” for one application.

I still remember that within 3 days, I woke up one morning and admired myself in the mirror. How my skin was dewy, bouncy (yes! their TVCs don’t lie!) and just… different from how it used to be. I thought it was a good skin day. This “good skin day” never ended. I really had friends asking me why did I put on make up to go to a kopitiam. My BF said I was crazy to go to bed with foundation. My skin was bare. I didn’t even have sun screen on. What they saw was what I was born with, enhanced by a miracle.

Picture don’t lie, and I swear on Tuppy’s life that I have not digitally enhanced them. I am also not wearing ANY foundation, primer or base in the following two pics. That’s my skin with SK-II (and untinted moisturizer of course!).

That’s me in the sleeveless black dress.

I’m on the right in a white t-shirt.

Amazing right? This is why it’s been 10 years and I still am loyal to SK-II. I cannot live without it. I’ve added 2 other items from their range to my regime. I now use a total of 3 SK-II products.

Cleanser, FTE & mask

They have dramatically improved my skin to the point where I need them almost like a drug. People do notice when I skip on a step (e.g. not using my weekly mask or not using FTE for 2 days in a row) and ask why is my skin dehydrated. I no longer need to so much essence too, a mere 10 cent coin amount is usually enough for my face and neck. A bottle of SK-II FTE can last me for about 9 months – 1 year. Money very, very well spent.

And now comes my most convincing argument. I am right handed, and I don’t use cotton pads when I apply SK-II so the essence goes straight onto my left palm. It is extremely obvious in real life that my left palm has A LOT less lines than the right.

Close up shot for you:

Even the main grooves are somewhat diminished. (Wonder if this changes my fortune!)

I’ll be a very sad, dull and wrinkled person if they ever discontinue this product. If you, like me, have skin woes, miracle water might also just be the miracle you need :-)
