Holly Jean's Getting Dumped Sucks

The secret to getting over it quick is knowing the truth. Unfortunately. the majority of men are cowards who would rather recycle some vague cliché breakup lines over and over again rather than just speak their minds and tell us the real reasons behind the break up.

Here are some of the most empty/vague/bullshit but popular break up lines and what they really mean.

 It's not you, it's me.

This is a classic, it makes him feel less guilty and more gracious. In reality though, obviously it's not him, the problem is YOU. Maybe he's sick of you getting jealous all the time or perhaps he's just not that into you.

 You're too good for me.

Trust me. If he really thought you were too good for him, he would feel like he hit the jackpot and marry you. The reality of it is, he think's he's too good for you and wants to find someone better. Or you're a good catch, but not good enough to make him want to give up singlehood... yet.

It's bad timing right now.

Is it a bad or busy phase of life he's going through? Well, there is this thing called prioritising, and it is human nature to do so, since we cannot possibly fit everything into our lives at any one point of time. How prioritising works is we keep the things that are important or enjoyable or meaningful to us, and we drop the things we don't really want. In this instance, that happened to be you.

I think we are better as friends.

This translates into you're a cool person but the sex isn't good enough! Well girlfriend, if it's any consolation, I can tell you that I've had my fair share of bad bedroom partners. It takes

I'm not ready for a commitment yet.

He does like you, but he doesn't feel like committing to you while he still feels that he can attract hotter babes. When he meets the right girl, his fear of commitment will suddenly change. Don't wait around for that, it's not going to be you.

I apologise if these interpretations sound harsh, but if you really think about his break up line logically, you will find the real meaning to it.

Accept it, and move on. Afterall, you're too good for him. *wink*
