Don’t get me wrong, I am quite happy with my overall looks as I would kind of categorise myself under the presentable category. I wish I was in the gorgeous category though but hey ho life is not perfect. There is this one part of myself that I am not happy with since young. It’s my nose. As you can see, I have what you call a button nose. I wish I was blessed with a high nose bridge. Especially in photos, my nose look even flatter that it really is too.
When I was in primary and secondary, kids sometimes make fun of my button nose. I grew up hating my nose.
I have been thinking about doing something about it for a while now.
It is very common to go for Botox and Fillers nowadays. But the thing is that I felt those can only last for about 6 months and I wasn’t absolutely comfortable with injecting anything into my body as well.
Then you must be thinking, why don’t just go for rhinoplasty and get a new nose?
Well, I am not daring enough to go to that extreme at the moment. My consideration towards rhinoplasty is that it is permanent and since they have to cut me, there is always more risk of infection and complication. I had friends had rhinoplasty done a few times again and again until they get the nose shape they are happy with.
So I am afraid what if the new rhinoplasty nose is not suitable for me then I cannot go back to what I was before.
All these thoughts has been bothering me for many years. When I was living in Korea a couple of years ago, I came across a procedure commonly known as PDO (polydioxanone) Thread Lift or Ultra V Lift or HIKO.
This is an advanced technology where fine threads called polydioxanone (PDO) which is a synthetic absorbable monofilament thread commonly used in cardiovascular surgery and fine ligatures. It is ultra thin (0.12mm) thread are inserted into targeted areas under the skin to stimulate skin tissue. As a result, the skin tissues create new tissue fibroblasts and collagen, which produces a tightening effect from inside out. When sagging skin is tightened, it creates a more sculpted ‘V-shape’ face as well as smooth, silky skin.
The most sought after ‘V-shaped’ face or a natural looking nose lift can be achieved with this treatment.
Since the threads are dissolvable, they are slowly absorbed into the body safely.
Other than using it to heighten the nose bridge by giving it a natural elevated look, it can be also applied to anywhere on the body, including the face, eye corners, cheeks, double chin, neck, forehead, laugh lines, forearm and abdomen.
It just sounds like the procedure for me and the results can last for 1 to 2 years.
Ultra V Lift / HIKO is performed by over 2000 clinics in Korea and has become more and more popular in Japan and other parts of Asia as well.
Good news is that this new Ultra V Lift / HIKO is now also available in Singapore.
I visited Celevenus Wellness & Aesthetic Clinic website to find out more about the procedures and was surprised that it takes only about 30 min – 1 hour and anaesthetic cream is applied on the treatment area prior to the procedure so pain, bleeding or swelling is very minimal since the threads are inserted just under the skin.
The procedure is suitable for most people.
I really want to try Ultra V Lift as it is much better than the traditional lifting.
I have made my appointment with Celevenus Wellness & Aesthetic Clinic already and I can’t wait to share with you my experience on the procedure and the results of my ‘new’ nose. 🙂 🙂 🙂
Ultra V Lifting VS Traditional Lifting
Traditional lifting treatments are an involved procedure that is invasive. The surgeon pinpoints the incision to be made, inserts a thread in a certain direction and then fixes it by pulling the sagging skin. The area of application is limited due to treatment by thread and there is a recovery period.
For Ultra V Lift, the application area is anywhere on the body and face, including the eye corners, cheeks, nose forehead, laugh lines, forearm and abdomen and the down time is much shorter than traditional one.
Ultra V Lift has none of the drawbacks associated with traditional lifting technology; there is no general or local anaesthesia required, and its procedure time is short, hence dubbed as the ‘lunch time’ treatment in Korea, Japan and other parts of Asia.
