On behalf of the People’s Association Youth Movement (PAYM), MyFatPocket team and bloggers were invited to a party called I Came To Party” with Space Cowboy at Bershka @ ION Orchard and we did come to party, alright! Our resident celebrity bloggers, June Wee and Belinda Lim came along to grace the pre-event media conference and of course, because Belinda loves Space Cowboy!
Space Cowboy (UK) was in town to celebrate this year’s street dance party, City Alive! 2010, at Pit Building. Better known by his stage name, this famous French DJ is a protégé of Norman Cook and a producer for Lady Gaga.
He remixed Marilyn Manson’s first single and in 2008, Space Cowboy became the personal DJ for Lady Gaga and has collaborated with her on several track. While free Tiger beer was being served and the buffet of extensive hors d’ouevers was tempting, our eyes were on the dancers who were shaking their hot booties to up the tempo while the dj maestro was spinning .
Bershka boutique certainly looked different during this private function when it is in it operations. The event certainly boosts its positioning further by being a clubbing retail line.
Hosted by the sweet Annabelle Francis, she later announced on a fashion contest. Four guys and ladies were picked to dress the dancers cum models in Bershka’s clothes with a given theme each – glamorous, punk, glam rock, etc. Blogger June Wee participated, “So how would one decide a glam rock attire for a clubbing night?” It wasn’t hard for June to pick a suitable ensemble for her theme as Bershka is a fashion leader that dedicates itself to the most fashionable public. In addition to the wide range of clothing, all lines include a large spectrum of accessories and shoes for men and women.
June Wee was inspired by Space Cowboy’s red military jacket and the whole soviet union look, so she chose a military jacket, studded belt and a sling handbag for the freedom of movement when in a club. The panel of judges voted for June’s ensemble against the other female competitor and won by a 60% vote. She walked away with an INQ phone and $150 worth of Bershka vouchers.
Bershka discount vouchers were also distributed as door gifts. But the disappointment was that the vouchers were only valid for that night! While some felt cheated by the vouchers and some were on impulse and pressured purchase, the night was definitely a good one for us. June Wee, of course, had the widest smile. You rock, girl!
