Vivian Dawson’s exotic good looks come from his half Singaporean and half New Zealander parentage. He’s a model with a body most men can only dream of, someone who has sexed up the covers of magazines such as Men’s Health and he was crowned CLEO’s Most Eligible Bachelor in 2009 ( I fondly remember him as Bachelor #45).
Ok… so most people would look at him, towering at 1.9m tall, with his broad chest, sexy lips and all… and agree with me when I say he is smoking hot! But when I was first introduced to Vivian a few months ago while we were at a gym, the first thing I thought was – wow, what a nice guy! ( Ok, I have to admit… that was the second thing. The first thing I really thought was “Nooo… I didn’t wash my hair this morning and have no make- up on!” ) But once I was over that, I realised that Vivian was surprisingly down to earth, an absolute gentleman, there’s no airs about him and he looks every bit as good as those photographs you’ve been drooling over.
So I’m very pleased to be able to bring you a short interview with the man, and you’ll see there’s more to him than meets the eye.
What is the one physical feature you look for in a woman?
Just one? Wow that’s hard, but I’ll say toned arms.
What is the most important character/trait you look for in a woman?
She has to be courteous, I like women with good manners.
What’s the sweetest thing a woman has ever done for you?
My ex-girlfriend hand made a large poster called famous couples in time and had pics of a lot of celebrity couples around the outside and our picture was in the middle, very well made and so sweet.
Modelling has taken you all over the world. How do Singaporean girls compare to… for instance, Japanese girls?
Japanese girls have a unique style which makes them stand out, Singaporeans are more conservative with their fashion. It seems Japanese girls are more cute while Singaporean girls seem more sophisticated.
What’s your best asset?
Well, I try to be an all-rounder. I train my body hard, played music since I was 5 so I play classical piano now, I excel at sports and I have a degree in Physiology. But I’ve been told I have a great smile…that’s the one thing I didn’t have to work for 😛
What do you think of women who undergo plastic surgery?
I think it’s fine. Some people are more fortunate than others genetically, so it’s easy for those that are born lucky to look down those on those who have surgery, but if people can feel better about themselves by going under the knife then good for them…
Within reason though, like Michael Jackson went a bit to far, stay true to yourself, having a ‘touch up’ is fine.
What do you think of men/models who get plastic surgery on their chests or abs when you’ve had to work hard at the gym for yours?
Ah..do men do that? I didn’t even know 😛 I think they should just go to the gym and build the muscle, it’s one thing for girls who get a breast enlargement because they can’t train to grow them, but for guys, they should just put in the work, unless there is a reason why they cannot then if they want to get it done, it’s ok.
I worked hard for mine, but getting built chest and abs isn’t why I work hard, I work hard to be healthy and strong, having the look was a bonus that came along later.
Would you consider plastic surgery for yourself?
