Former Mediacorp actress Tracy Lee got married recently and the joyous occasion was no doubt picked up by the media. A celebrity’s wedding definitely deserves a spot in the news, but the comments that followed on social media weren’t exactly in good taste.

Tracy Lee got married to Ben Goi last weekend and although the wedding was very much in the news, not much was known about Ben Goi except that he is the scion of a local tycoon. The news on Straits Times focused quite a bit on his assets and the heavyweight guests that were present at the wedding, rather than the love story between the couple.

Just like what was expected from the keyboard warriors, comments that suggest Tracy Lee being a gold-digger, and how nothing but money matters came flooding in on Facebook and forums alike. But to be fair, there are readers who are genuinely happy for the couple and sent them their well wishes and supported the couple by asking them not to be affected by nasty comments.
