Out of all the Yu Sheng that we have tossed and tried for 2019, the cutest Yu Sheng has got to be this cute piggy from The Fullerton Bay Hotel’s Cantonese resturant, Jade.
The special Piggy Edition Gold Rush Yu Sheng ($388++) is served with fresh salmon and serves up to 10 pax. The cute piglet in the middle is made from pink radish and we were told that the chef takes about 1.5 hours to complete a piglet.
Of course, while you are there, here are some other dishes that you might want to try:
1. Braised and Roasted Pork Belly in Steamed Bun
Double the meat, double the happiness. You can enjoy two types of pork belly in this dish – one that features chef’s secret recipe featuring soy sauce, while the other meat is served roasted and crispy.
2) Pen Cai
Some people say that Chinese New Year isn’t complete without a pot of Pen Cai. We say…. Go for one that has top-shelf ingredients in them! Take a look at the picture below, doesn’t it look so good that you want a bowl of Pen Cai right now?
3. Prosperity Stir-fried Sliced Red Grouper
Fish signifies abundance and when it is served with its head and tail intact, it also signifies good luck. Chef Leong preserved the tradition with a modern twist by pairing it with sliced grouper fillets that make up the body of the fish. In our opinion, it makes it easier for the diners too.
