Seoul’s leading food expo to see 1,620 booths, food trend seminars, hands-on events, and more from November 20thto 23rd at Coex

The 14th edition of Korea’s leading and largest food festival, Coex Food Week, is to take place from November 20th to 23rd at Coex in Seoul. The expo will see 1,320 companies across 1,620 booths, and attendance from thousands of local and overseas buyers and foodies.

Since its launch in 2006, Coex Food Week has grown to become Korea’s leading tradeshow for the global food and beverage industry, spanning four exhibition halls and 36,007sqm of space in 2019. The four-day food-themed extravaganza includes a variety of side events and attractions for business visitors and families to enjoy.

This year, the expo is split into sectors including the Seoul International Bakery Fair (SIBA), machinery and general foods, a local agriculture hall, and a ‘trend zone’. Companies from Korea, the Netherlands, Australia, Singapore, and more, will be showcasing their goods at Coex Food Week.

Hall A of Coex Food Week will see ingredients and produce from regions across the Korean peninsula, with a spotlight on premium agricultural food trends, and a dedicated Korea Agriculture Pavilion.

In hall B, visitors will be able to view brands spearheading the food distribution market, as well as a comprehensive selection of brands from the food value chain. This zone reflects the radical and recent growth of Korea’s Home Meal Replacement (HMR), food packaging, and cold chain industries.

The biannual Seoul International Bakery Fair in hall C is organized with the Korean Confectionary Association, and will offer visitors a host of baked goods, baking events, and the chance to enjoy the 4th Top Patisserie Asia contest, held in Korea for the first time. Launched in 1983, SIBA is Korea’s leading expo for the baked goods and confectionary sector.

Hall D will showcase all things weird and wonderful in the world of food trends, including drinks and alcoholic beverages, vegan and vegetarian items, and desserts. Cooking demonstrations by domestic and international culinary experts and various hands-on events will also take place throughout the four-day event.

Buyers looking to forge business partnerships at Coex Food Week may register for the expo’s complimentary 1:1 business meeting program. These 1:1 biz-meetings include participation from E-Mart, Lotte Mart, GS25, Shinsegae Food and CJ Freshway. The ‘2019 Korea Food Tech Conference’ and other seminars are also offered to encourage information share and network building at the event.

The second day of Coex Food Week, November 21st, will see a press conference for the newly-launching Food Tech event, which is to be held in association with the German Agricultural Association (GAA) at Coex Food Week 2020.
