Kim Jung Hyun, Shin Hye Sun, Bae Jong Ok, and Kim Tae Woo will be starring in an upcoming drama “Queen Cheorin” (translated title), which promises to be a historical fusion drama with a touch of comedy.

The drama will be about a man who lives in modern times, but due to a twist of fate, got his soul got trapped in the body of a queen in Joseon Dynasty. Shin Hye Sun plays the queen who tried her best to fulfil her responsibilities for her family. However, when the man’s soul took over her body, she started to act differently, and hijinks ensue.
Kim Jung Hyun takes the role of King Cheol Jong who appears to be easy-going and gentle, but has a darker side to his personality that is almost psychopathic. He secretly plans to reform his country and wants to make the country a better place for his people.
“Queen Cheorin” seeks to fight against gender stereotypes and is written by scriptwriters Park Gye Ok (“Doctor Prisoner” and “Inspiring Generation”) and Choi Ah Il (“Lovers of Six Years”). Yoon Sung Shik who directed “Hwarang” and “Tower of Babel” will take a helm for “Queen Cheorin” as the producing director.
“Queen Cheorin” will air on tVN, but the broadcast schedule hasn’t been confirmed at the time of writing. Stay tuned for more updates.
