Korean drama “It’s Okay Not to Be Okay” is seeing a steady rise in viewership with an interesting storyline and the perfect onscreen chemistry between the two leads, Kim Soo Hyun and Seo Ye Ji.
Seo Ye Ji’s plays Ko Moon Young, a children’s book author who suffers from an antisocial personality disorder, and the makeup that she wore in the drama is gaining a lot of attention. The makeup artist who was in charge of creating her look is none other than Maeng (Woosun), who is also the makeup artist for popular idol girl group BLACKPINK.

Maeng generously shared on her Instagram the makeup products and the makeup techniques she used on Seo Ye Ji to create Ko Moon Young’s mysterious look. Well, I guess we will be heading out to get our hands on these items to recreate that glamourous makeup look that Seo Ye Ji wore in the drama!
NARS Hardwired Eyeshadow in Pattaya, NARS Eyeshadow in GALAPAGOS, Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner in Grind
Apply NARS Eyeshadow in GALAPAGOS along the double eyelid line and outer corner of the eye. Lightly dust NARS Hardwired Eyeshadow in Pattaya on the upper lid, and use it to highlight the aegyo sal. Apply a little of Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner in Grind right the centre of the eyelid for an extra pop of glitter. Use your fingers to blend it out.

While we usually apply one shade of blusher over our cheeks, the professionals sometimes mix two or more shades to get the right look. Makeup artist Maeng shared that Seo Ye Ji’s Cheek colour in “It’s Okay Not to Be Okay” was created by blending these two blushers together.

Seo Ye Ji’s lip colour was created with MAC Satin Lipstick in Peach Stock and Pupa I’m Matt Lipstick in Mystery Rose. We love that pinkish nude tone that looked so natural, yet gave her some colour on her lips. The cool tone created added to her cold vibes, fitting for her character in the show. I’m not sure about you, but I thought that the colours looked pretty even if they are worn on their own.
