Doing your cardio and your core workouts aren’t easy feats, and it takes a lot of perseverance to workout regularly amidst your busy schedule. However, it is no secret that if we want that body, we got to work for it.
On top of regular workouts, diet plays a big part when it comes to getting those toned and defined abs. Yes, it is a lot of work. So when somebody tells you that you can get a flat belly and toned abs just by lying on a towel for 5 minutes a day, it shouldn’t be difficult to tell that that’s totally BS.
TikTok user @tiabagha posted this viral video about a “workout” routine that promises a flat belly and toned abs in 10 days. The routine goes something like lying on the floor with a rolled-up towel placed underneath your lower back and extend your arms and legs. Lay there for 5 minutes, once a day and you will see results in 10 days.
Nope.
The TikTok video has since gathered 3.4 million likes and 13k comments, but it has also come to the attention of fitness influencer and creator of Blogilates, Cassey Ho. In Cassy Ho’s Instagram post, she said, “I AM SO SICK OF FAKE FITNESS INFORMATION GOING VIRAL.” and went on to add that the towel method was invented by Japanese reflexology and massage specialist, Dr. Toshiki Fukutsudzi to help with lower back pain and spine alignment. However, he later on claimed that the routine can help weight loss and for that part, Cassey Ho mentioned that that is definitely untrue.
It doesn’t hurt to be a little more discerning when we are on social media. And if things appear too good to be true, they probably are.
