Being a parent isn’t easy. And throughout this stay home period, I kept hearing parents saying that it is hard to squeeze in a workout session without having the kids asking for you.
If that is an everyday scenario for you, why not get the kids to join in the fitness fun too? Kids being kids, being couped up at home all day can be pretty distressing and a 20-minute family workout session every day can help them get active and the adults and the kids can spend some quality family time together too.
It doesn’t matter if you are not really sure what kind workouts are suitable for kids. There are plenty of Youtube videos that offer family workout routines and they are tailored to your kids’ interests and level of difficulties. Imagine warming down to “Let It Go”, and working out to Pokemon’s movements. These creativities infused into what would have been a normal workout will get your kids to stay with you throughout the session.
However, don’t go hard on the kids if they aren’t following very well, or decided to add in their own moves. Remember that what is of utmost importance is that you have fun, and stay active!
