What better way to show your love for our local food than to have them printed on your tee? Besides, you can even customise your foodie tee with stickers, texts, photographs, and paintings!
In collaboration with Singapore Tourism Board’s Singapore Food Festival, which will be held virtually this year from Aug 21 to 30, UNIQLO will be working with local artist Mandy Kew (@Haruko412) to create 8 food designs to be printed on UTme! T-shirts for the festival’s media packs. These 8 designs, which consists of local classic favourites such as Laksa, Kaya Toast and Kopi, Kueh Salat, Mee Siam, Kueh Tutu, Roti Prata, Chicken Rice and Nasi Lemak, will also be sold on the UTme! App from August 14.
The theme for this UTme! collection is “Food, With Passion”, and the dishes featured are based on ‘local heritage dishes’. Hence, UNIQLO wanted to engage a local artist who is passionate about food and the local food scene. Mandy Kew (@Haruko412) carved out her niche by tapping on her passion for food to draw realistic (and yummy-looking) food using water colours, resulting in a nostalgic look that will leave you craving for food. With her passion and in-depth knowledge of local food, and her unique realistic drawing style, she is a good and apt choice for this collaboration.
With a purchase of the UTme! T-shirt featuring one of the 8 food designs, you can:
1. Stand a chance to win an exclusive Singapore Food Festival Box containing unique food creations by local chefs, made just for this year’s Singapore Food Festival. Simply fill in a form in-store to qualify, limited to 35 lucky winners.
2. Receive a free sticker based off the 8 designs in the “Food, With Passion” collection. Limited to the first 800 redemptions.
UTme! is a fun platform that allows customers to express their creativity and customise their own UTs. Using tablets available at the UTme! booth, customers will be able to paint, insert texts and photographs, or apply themed stickers available to create their one-of-a-kind T-shirts. Upon submitting their designs on the tablets, the printing of shirts will take approximately 15 minutes after payment, depending on the complexity of the designs and the length of the queue. The UTme! booth is exclusively at the UNIQLO Orchard Central Flagship Store on level 3.
