Is this yet another name for glowing skin? Just like glass skin, honey skin, and cream skin?
Most of us will do anything to achieve that clear, glowing skin that is fit for a magazine cover. In the past few years, beauty terms like Korean glass skin, cream skin, honey skin and the likes popped up like mushrooms, all referring to the radiant glowing skin that we covet.
What is dolphin skin?

Just recently, yet another beauty term sprouted, this time named after an animal. Makeup artist Mary Philip, an ambassador for Iconic London coined the term “dolphin skin”, and it is essentially “how you’d imagine your face looking after a dip in the pool,” all “slick, sun-kissed, and a little slippery.”

But how does dolphin skin differ from glass skin since both refer to radiant, glowing skin? While glass skin is achieved with skincare, dolphin skin, on the other hand, is achieved with makeup, from the specific application of highlighter on certain points on your face.
How to achieve dolphin skin?
Regardless of the amount of makeup we pile on our skin, nothing will look good without great skin. Even if our skin ain’t exactly perfect, we can always set the stage by doing some prep work.

Mask your face before for a quick boost of hydration and glow before your makeup. You can try The Body Shop Japanese Matcha Tea Pollution Clearing Mask which soothes and hydrates skin, removes pollutants and impurities from your skin, and exfoliate it to reveal soft and smooth skin.

Alternatively, you may want to try a sheet mask like The Body Shop Vitamin C Glow Sheet Mask which is enriched with vitamin C-rich camu camu from Peru and Community Trade organic aloe vera from Mexico which will reveal your natural-looking glow and leaves skin feeling instantly awakened and hydrated.

After masking, go on to apply your go-to skincare products to perk up your complexion. You may want to include THEFACESHOP YEHWADAM Revitalizing Serum that helps the skin look radiant and revitalized, and at the same time, prevent the signs of premature aging.

Finally, makeup. Pick a luminous primer and a dewy foundation instead of matte ones to up that glow because you should look “slick, sun-kissed, and a little slippery.” We love Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Foundation that gives good coverage while providing an instantly dewy, luminous, natural-looking finish.

And now it’s time to “get wet” like a dolphin with a highlighter. Remember to apply highlighter on the high points of your face only and not your entire face. You want to look glowy, not dipped in oil. Apply your favourite highlighter to your nose bridge, brow bones, temples, cheekbones, and your chin. Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter Duo is one of the favourite highlighters amongst the beauty aficionados. It is a weightless, cream-powder hybrid highlighter and it features a subtle sheen on the left that’s perfect for day and supercharged shimmer on the right, killer for the night. With a dose of skin-glorifying colour, Killawatt ranges from subtle dayglow to insanely supercharged with shades that were designed for all skin tones.
Now, are you ready to dive into the dolphin skin trend already?
