K-pop girl group ITZY premiered their new song “Not Shy” on August 17 and it has already garnered 36 million views on Youtube to date.
The five ITZY members – Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna – gave their fans a show-stopping performance, but that isn’t all that there is to see in the music video. Their hair and makeup, together with the Wild West themed fashion that is both sexy and chic also caught our eyes.
While it is difficult to pull off the full looks the girls donned in the music video in our everyday life, we can incorporate some of the exciting elements of their styling into our daily looks to up our style points.
1. Cropped top + high-waisted bottoms
One of my favourite ways to elongate my short legs is none other than the cropped top and high-waisted bottoms combi. Demonstrated by many supermodels like Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner, you won’t go wrong with this one. You don’t have to match it with shorts as seen on the ITZY girls. High-waisted long pants and skirts of different cuts work great too.
2. Necklaces layering
Simply update your necklaces to a 2020 look instantly with this styling trick. Layer necklaces of different designs and materials together. You can either layer necklaces of the same colour together, or go for a clash of colours and no one will bat an eye. One of the designers favourite necklaces layering combination is silver/gold with pearls. Give it a shot.
3. Cowboy boots
This look is a little tough to pull off in Singapore, but you sure can if you walk down the street full of confidence, paired with the right outfit!
4. Scarf as a handkerchief top
Scarves aren’t just used to keep your neck warm or used as hair ties. Up your game and tie them around your body to double them up as a cute handkerchief top. Perfect for the hot weather in Singapore!
5. Lots of colourful prints
Neutrals are easy and versatile, but then again they rarely make a statement. Up your energy and get into the cheery mood with colourful prints on your outfits. Get some inspo from ITZY’s looks below.
6. Statement Sleeves
Puff sleeves have been taking centre stage and statement sleeves are all the rage this year. A voluminous top usually goes well with a slimmer bottom for a beautiful silhouette.
