You see, I’m no stranger to struggling with bad skin and I’m always on the lookout for the next best solution available. Especially in my younger years, I spent a lot of time trying out different products, and most of them did not work for my acne-prone and sensitive skin. I would break out and not know what’s the cause of it – whether was it my makeup or from trying out new products.
Also, back in the day when I was hustling as an advertising creative, I would often pile on thick layers of makeup to look presentable for work. What aggravated my skin was also the amount of late-nights spent on cracking briefs with a short turnaround time. Gradually, I began to use makeup as a quick-fix to cover up the imperfections of my skin, as I just accepted that I’m not as blessed in the department of having great skin.
(That’s me on the right – in my very early twenties!)
Thankfully, I was exposed to carbon lasers and that cleared up my skin for quite a bit – even though if it meant that I have to go for quite a few sessions. The nightmare began when these pesky bumps resurfaces at the same spot again. Since then, I swore on taking extra preventative measures whenever possible to take care of my skin well – and that means not leaving it to just “genetics” or “nature” – I told myself that I have to nurture my skin well with all the nourishment it can get as well.
Most recently, I’ve been using these beauty tech tools to supplement my regime – so that its nourishing ingredients will penetrate in the deeper layers of my skin well. The best part is its affordability, and I’ll let you in on where to get them 😉
1. Facial Cleaning Electric Vacuum Suction Beauty Device, $7.90
I personally use this to rid my skin of any impurities, and it helps remove my clogged pores with whiteheads. With the different suction caps available, you can cater the suction to your liking, dependent on your skin needs. What’s more, you can alter the energy setting to best suit your skin – this in fact, is an underrated, yet, powerful beauty tool that’s high on efficiency. If your skin is on the sensitive side and rather thin, going on the highest energy level will not be advisable. But as always, you can always give it a try to see what best suits you. And at $7.90, it’s really a steal.
2. Hot & Cold Proton Therapy Vibrating Facial Massager, $33.55
This is awesome if you want to stimulate your skin to absorb your skincare nutrients more effectively. I personally like the vibrating effect, as it makes my skin feel like it’s optimally nourished with a spa-like effect.
The plus side is that this also features light therapy, and you can effectively choose the settings desired as shown. My honest review is that I haven’t been religiously documenting which LED light works best for me (as it takes weeks of consistent usage to see its effects) – but you can always give it a try, as per product site’s recommendation!
3. LED Electric Laser Hair Growth Comb, $42.70
I love my lustrous thick black hair, but as I age and am working from home more often – I’m mostly shocked to see a pool of hair on the floor by the end of the day. As such, I use this LED Electric Laser Hair Growth Comb to prevent my hair from falling out by constantly stimulating it with LED light. With its vibrating option, it gives my head a great massage, and the peace of mind that every little step I take towards being disciplined in my beauty regimen, is a step forward to a healthier and youthful-looking me.
