It’s a dream come true! It took me so much courage to step into Halley Medical Aesthetics and it’s also my first time stepping into an aesthetic clinic. As I grow older, I realised that I’ve spent all my time tending to my kids’ needs and forgotten about myself. I always wanted to do something to my round and chubby face and my flat nose bridge. Time to find a solution!
My mind was full of questions when I was on the way there. What am I going to ask the doctor? Will the doctor laugh at me? Will the doctor be able to solve my problem? What kind of treatment should I do? As I stepped in Halley Medical Aesthetics, I was greeted by the friendly staff and the place is so cosy. It made feel more calm.
Consultation with Dr Mark was so good! He’s so polite and friendly. He listened patiently to my worries and recommended fillers and botox for me. And explained the types of fillers and how will it improve my looks.
Fillers treatment
Dermal fillers are medical products that sculpt the face for more definition or help to restore skin and facial contours to their former youthful appearance. Dermal fillers are made of various kinds of materials that have been developed for injection into the skin. Dermal fillers can be grouped into two types:
- hyaluronic acid fillers
- non-hyaluronic acid or collagen-stimulating fillers
Hyaluronic acid fillers, as the name suggests, contain hyaluronic acid, which is an ingredient that is safe for most people. That’s because hyaluronic acid is a natural compound found in our skin, and is responsible for many functions in our body like hydration and lubrication of joints. It also aids tissue repair and stimulates the production of the connective tissue that plumps our skin (i.e. collagen).
Collagen-stimulating fillers, on the other hand, use ingredients that stimulate our body’s own collagen for long-lasting effect. They are also called bio-stimulating fillers. They contain safe, synthetically produced compounds that when injected into the skin, volumises the area and stimulates the body’s fibroblasts to produce collagen. This results in very natural, long-lasting volumisation.
After hearing, i decided to go for it! But then again, I started to worry. Will it be painful? Will I look weird? Haha I really worry and think a lot. But because I want to be pretty so I need to be brave right. The fillers that I will be injecting is Juvederm Volux.
Dermal fillers like the Juvederm range of fillers that were prescribed contains hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid diminishes as we age, causing our skin to lose its moisture and elasticity, resulting in fine lines and wrinkles. The Juvederm fillers also contain lidocaine, an anaesthesia which minimises discomfort during treatment. Yay!
Time for treatment! Omg! I’m so nervous and excited at the same time. Take a deep breath!
Nose Fillers
Chin Fillers
Botox
Finally! Let me tell you! After cleansing my face off makeup and grime, a layer of numbing cream was applied to the treatment area. Once the numbing effect takes place, the cream will be removed and a cold pack will be placed to numb the area further. It’s not painful at all during the treatment, only a slight discomfort.
The doctor’s treatment technique for filler injection is important in creating a natural yet effective lift to a patient’s face. It’s instant results!!! I got treated on my nose and chin. When I looked at the mirror, I’m so amazed and happy. I never expect to be really so instant. My nose bridge is higher and sharper now. My chin is sharper too. I just cannot stop looking at the mirror after the treatment. So pretty! I love it!
I’m so happy with the results. It’s very natural too.
My treatment cost for fillers,
Juvederm Volux (1 syringe) = $890
The Juvederm brand has a range of fillers, which are differentiated based on the firmness and viscosity (thickness and stickiness) of the gel. Whether you need a firmer or softer filler would depend on the area that requires treatment, the condition of your skin, and the desired result. Doctors might prescribe a firmer filler together with a softer one, so as to fill up facial volume loss and at the same time deliver at a natural touch.
Botox Treatment
I have very round face and tell you a secret, I always need to edit the fats on my face for a nice photo. I’m so glad that Botox can help and I’m to had the botox inject on my jaws.
Botox is a botulinum neuromodulator, which is used to relax the muscles. It is a commonly administered treatment for relaxing the muscles on the face for the treatment of dynamic wrinkles. Following a Botox treatment, the muscles that produce frown lines will relax and the wrinkles will reduce in appearance. A botulinum neuromodulator like Botox can be used to treat frown lines, forehead lines, and crow’s feet. It is also effective in face contouring, where the jawline can be slimmed down by relaxing the masseter or jaw muscles.
I’ll share my botox experience and my botox results in my next post, since it will take a few days before I can see the results of my botox treatments. Stay tuned!
So ladies what are you waiting for? Time to love and pamper yourself. Guys are welcome too! 😍
