The collaboration collection with the cult streetwear brand incorporates unique DIY elements for self-personalisation and a whimsical yet fun message of positivity.
Leading sports and lifestyle brand, SKECHERS, introduces its latest collaboration collection with the Los Angeles-based label CHINATOWN MARKET. Drawing from the DIY influences as well as the whimsical yet creative taglines familiar to the streetwear label, the collection invites the wearer to be a part of the design process.
Launching both online and at selected stores this December, the new Skechers X Chinatown Market collection features a range of unisex apparel comprising hoodies, pullovers and T-shirts, as well as a specially designed chunky sneaker style for both men and women.
With selected apparel designs and the sneaker created for DIY personalisation, each individual will be able to add their own favourite colours, lines and patterns to their apparel and shoes, with a set of markers provided with each purchase of these products.
These apparel styles can thus be worn in two different ways: in its original design, the apparel boasts a cool monotone graphic design for the black-and-white contrast; with additional personalisation, each wearer can create their own colourful and vibrant style.
Besides colours, the apparel designs also feature other elements which are iconic to Chinatown Market’s signature style, including playful yet thought-provoking taglines and whimsical artwork.
A message to ‘Support Your Friends’ as well as the brand’s very familiar phrase ‘Have a Nice Day’ are much needed reminders full of positive vibes. The graphic also features the Skechers S logo and the adapted peace symbol representing Chinatown Market, reimagined as ‘friends’ who have got each other’s backs.
The sneaker, which has been created on Skechers’ street-style Stamina 2.0 silhouette, also features an eye-catching design with border stripes along the white panels of the shoe. The chunky heel not only lengthens your legs, but is also padded for comfort with the Air Cooled Memory Foam insole.
Presented in a vibrant colour palette of green, red, blue and yellow, this creates a minimalist look that works well on its own, or as a canvas for the wearer’s individual designs. Besides personalising with markers, the shoelaces are also interchangeable with two additional colours provided in green and red, allowing you to show off your own imagination and individual flair.
The Skechers X Chinatown Market Collection launches on 15 December 2020 exclusively at Skechers Jewel Changi Airport and Wisma Atria and online at Skechers on Lazada (http://lazada.skechers.com.sg/). It will also be available in-store from 21 December 2020 at selected Skechers stores, including Ngee Ann City, Bugis Junction, Plaza Singapura and Great World City.
