I started creating a couple’s bucket list after I got married earlier this year. It has all the things I want to do with my husband, goals we we want to achieve as a couple… before either of us kicks the bucket.
You can start creating a couple’s bucket list at any point of your relationship. Create a list of things you want to do together to create a memorable and bonding experience.
Here are the 10 things I have on my list that we’re waiting to tick off:
1. Ride a scary roller coaster together
We both love roller coasters and have been on many rides in our past but we have yet to ride one together.
2. Go on a road trip
Take 10 days off work, hire a car, pack it full of essentials, get a map and just start driving upwards.. past borders and beyond.
3. Wear matching clothes
Just once, we plan to wear matching clothes and turn up at the bar where all our mutual friends gather… just for a laugh.
4. Go camping together
He told me about the fun countryside camping trips he had as a boy. I’d like to do one with him when we are back in Scotland.
5. Take a class together
Maybe a cooking lesson, art class or a dance class. Something we can have fun at.
6. Kiss in the rain
We’ve been too practical, running for shelter. Just once, I hope we will stop in the rain just to share a passionate kiss.
7. Get our fortune read
This is a bit scary, but exciting at the same time. It would be interesting to have our palms or tarot cards read as a couple.
8. Go to Portugal
This was supposed to be our honeymoon destination. But we’ve had to put it off because we cannot afford it at the moment and our priorities lie with paying for our home and saving up for other essentials.
9. Paint a room
My husband is anti DIY, while I love fixing things on my own. For once, it would be nice to work on a simple house project together.
10. Have a baby
This would be the first step of us starting our family. And probably the start of a whole new bucket list!
As you cross things off your list, be proud of the things you have accomplished together.
Don’t rush through it, enjoy the ride!
