Carrots that are naturally wonky or out of shape can’t be sold in the supermarkets. And more often than not, they are thrown away.
In an attempt to reduce wastage, The Body Shop is sourcing for thousands of these wonky carrots from a British, family-run farm for their new carrot skincare range. It doesn’t matter if the carrots are ugly, or that they are in the wrong shape and size because these unique looking carrots are definitely as fresh as all the others.
The Body Shop’s new Carrot skincare range comprises of a face cleanser and daily moisturiser that are enriched with organic carrots and Community Trade organic aloe vera. The Carrot Wash Energizing Face Cleanser ($21) leaves our skin feeling cleansed, smoother, energised and purified from daily urban grime, while the Carrot Cream Nature Rich Daily Moisturiser ($31) provides 72hr hydration and leaves skin feeling recharged with moisture and protected against daily aggressors.
Another piece of good news? It’s not just what’s on the inside that makes this new range so sustainable – it also comes in 100% recyclable packaging made from 55% recycled plastic.
The Body Shop Carrot skincare range is available at all The Body Shop stores islandwide.
