[Coex Food Week 2019 in Seoul] Top 7 Food Companies Picked by the Global Media

Coex Food Week 2019 took place from November 20th to 23rd at Coex in Seoul and MyFatPocket was glad to be there to eat discover all the yummy food and discover the new food trends in Seoul, Korea.

The expo saw 1,320 companies across 1,620 booths, and attendance from thousands of local and overseas buyers and foodies.

Coex Food Week 2019 Dafina Jam

Dafina showcased low-calorie homemade fruit jam products with no sugar or synthetic additives. Dafina means hidden treasure and sudden gift in Swahili. The company's name holds the meaning of finding nature's gift and delivering them to the customers. Dafina's three main products displayed at Food Week are blueberry jam, mango & passion fruit jam, and strawberry & raspberry jam. Strawberry & raspberry tastes like the ones commonly eaten in Korea, blueberry jam is perfect when eaten with yoghurt, while Mango & passion fruit is popular among foreigners.

Vice President Oh Jang-geon who participated in the event said, "Dafina jam contains bits of raw fruit, so it is like eating ripe fruits. Foreign products often have the fruit bits expanded by making them into jellies, but there is nothing like that in our product, so the taste and smell are fully preserved."

Health Teacher introduced various jam products such as 'bean bean jam' and 'tomato dipping jam' using grains and vegetables. Nowadays, obesity and diet have become a social issue, and fruit jams are known to contain a lot of sugar and unnecessary additives. Health Teacher, on the other hand, makes a difference by making products with pure and natural ingredients but at the same time preserving the flavours of the fruits and vegetables.

Vietnam Plus (Vietnam) - Kew & Leaves

Coex Food Week 2019 Kew & Leaves

Kew & Leaves introduced herbal tea products that preserve the Korean sentiment. The organic citron of Goheung-gun, Jeonbuk and the organic tangerine of Jeju island are blended with various herbs to make the perfect tea. This effort was recognized and the company won the Belgian iTQi Award both in 2017 and 2018.

Song Min-Jae, who participated in the event, said, "I would like the people to taste our tea, made with the Korean ingredients in Korean way and feel the difference in your body."

Suble Suble presented a non-alcoholic rice wine flavoured drink Suble Suble 0.5. Suble Suble 0.5 is a refreshing, non-alcoholic makgeolli-flavoured beverage that is made with 100% Korean rice and malt. Since the alcohol content is 0.5%, it is classified as a non-alcoholic beverage.
