5 Halloween Date Night Movies

Movie date nights are relatively inexpensive, they’re super casual and easy to organise.

This Halloween, if you’re sick of costumes and parties, consider having a fright night date with your man instead. Horror flicks are a great way to be entertained… with lots of snuggling. Here are 5 best horror movies of 2018 which you can either catch at the cinema or through streaming or on Netflix at home.

1. The Cured

Not your usual slasher movie nor about the supernatural... this is a zombie after-math type flick. Set in a world where society has found a cure for an apocalyptic zombie virus, the previously infected try to assimilate back into society.

I love the very talented and upcoming young actress who stars in this movie, Ellen Page.

2. Halloween

Aptly titled for release this month, Halloween sees the return of Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) in one last bloody confrontation with her masked killer brother, Michael Myers.

This is probably one movie which older couples will enjoy more if they’ve been around and watched the Halloween franchise of horror movies since around 1982!

3. Meg

This movie is based on the 1997 novel Meg: A Novel of Deep Terror. It is about a giant prehistoric shark that terrorizes a submarine crew trapped at the bottom of the Mariana Trench.

I’m usually apprehensive about movies involving mutant sharks (there have been so many corny, tacky, bad ones before). But this boasts a stellar cast including Jason Statham.

4. Slender Man

Eeek! Even the name sends shivers down my spine. This movie is based on the viral internet spook named Slender Man who is a very thin, unnaturally tall man with a featureless head and face and wearing a black suit.

Did you hear a knock on your door? Go peep through the peephole, maybe it’s Slender Man...

5. Insidious: The Last Key

This is the fourth and final chapter of the insidious series of supernatural movies.

It starts when parapsychologist Elise Rainier (the same old woman from previous movies) receives a disturbing phone call from a man who claims that his house is haunted. The address is the home where Elise grew up as a child. This movie she faces the demon that she accidentally set free years earlier.
